| Known for its beauty along the shores of the Kennebunk River, this links style course with small greens, rolling terrain, and tidal creeks is a challenge to all who dare test it.
Created in 1896 and redesigned in 1919-1923 by world famous Walter Travis, British and U.S. Amateur Champion, Cape Arundel has been able to preserve the aura of golf and its’ tradition.
With par being 69, Walter Travis himself may have said it best, “While the course is on the short side it will strongly appeal to every class of golfer and the person who equals par will have played “some” golf.”

Cape Arundel, today, prides itself on its’ preservation of history while offering a well groomed course and a high degree of service and enjoyment. From the Golf Shop and personal Instruction & Clubfitting to the comfort of familiarity and the intrigue of the links-style course, the whole experience at Kennebunkport is rich with tradition and enjoyment.
We invite you to spend a moment, being transported through time from the first day at Kennebunkport Golf Club (now Cape Arundel) and the struggles of World War I to modern techniques, Instruction & Clubfitting, and events. Cape Arundel was founded on history and tradition; it is what makes us great!
When former president George H. W. Bush was asked which was his favorite golf course, he proudly answered, "Our little golf course in Maine, Cape Arundel. The Kennebunk River winds around the links-type course, with water and tidal flats coming into play on 11 holes. I truly love Cape Arundel. It's not a tough course, but it's a very special place." |
