Mars Hill Country Club opened its doors to the public in the spring of 1991 with a nine hole golf course located at the base of Mars Hill Mountain, In the spring of 2000 the course expanded to eighteen holes with the addition of nine new holes to the north of the original layout.
Though not a long course at 5742 yards from the white tees, Mars Hill is a challenging golf course with many of the holes cut through the woods and up and down rolling hills. The signature hole is number six, a par three that boasts a tee box on Mars Hill Mountain and a 165 foot vertical drop to the green. Golfers travel great distances to play this hole and its unmatched scenic view.
All eighteen holes at this amazing course were designed and constructed by Alton McQuade along with the help of his grandson Andrew McQuade who now serves as the course superintendent and general manager.
